Trading Philosophy - Getting the Mental Right
Your mental attitude is more important than you think (at least for me)
This post isn’t going to be some structured well well-thought-out writing. It is going to be a quick update on what I have been experiencing as a trader, and hopefully it helps other traders who are going through it.
The Yips
Right now, I have the yips in trading.
I have been struggling to put on trades because of my mental attitude towards trading. The notion of always being right plays a huge role on my mental ability and not wanting to make mistakes. This crushes my ability to even put on trades.
What is Helping Me Overcome the Yips
I have written about this in the past as many of you may know, but that is currently where I am at. As I learn to move past this phase, there have been 2 major resources that have helped me with this.
Trading in the Zone: Master the Market with Confidence, Discipline, and a Winning Attitude by Mark Douglas
This video from Jonathan Blow (video game creator who made Braid)
As I worked through this, I lost a lot of motivation to post. Sorry about that. But for now, that is my current update on my journey.
I believe I know what to do, or at least have a better insight on what I should be doing, and I believe things will start to pick up shortly. Again, sorry for the lack of posting!
Happy trading and stay tuned!
