Trading Philosophy - There is a KNOWING in being a "Trader"
If you don’t believe in it, then you’re not doing it—you haven’t figured out the thing you do best yet!
A clip from an interview of Jay-Z answering a question about being an aspiring artist. And I think replacing the word “artist” with “trader” shows some similarities.
"There’s a knowing in being an artist. There’s a knowing you can’t guess, you can’t think—there’s a knowing you have to know. Even if it doesn’t work today, or tomorrow… The artists I played that weren’t popular at the time—I play them more than I play current artists.
For example, I suggest you just look up ‘Sugary.’ At the time, it wasn’t this hugely popular thing, but I think, when it’s all said and done, we’ll play that music more than any other music.
So you have to have this knowing that, okay, it may not work today, it may not work tomorrow—but this is the right thing, this is what I’m doing, and this is what’s feeding me. That would be the best advice I can give you: that knowing. Just believe in what you’re doing. And if you don’t believe in it, then you’re not doing it—you haven’t figured out the thing you do best yet.
When you feel it, when you know it—no one can tell you. You only have to be right once."
Even only having to be right once can be taken in the context of trading. Although you will inevitably lose trades, as long as your system or methodology you trade is “right”, that's really what matters. Once you find a methodology that works for you, you step on the gas from there!
Again, I apologize for the irregular posting times. Still trying to lock into trading intraday!
Happy trading and stay tuned!
